This blanket is a bit of a yarn eater - it takes about 2400 yards to make a 40” x 40” blanket in a 3 weight yarn (around 4 Mandala cakes). This pattern is written so that any yarn size could be used with an appropriately sized hook, The blanket size is easily adjustable, and can be constructed in a rectangular or square shape too! Instructions are included for both within the pattern.
The versatility of this blanket, along with its elegant look, make this piece unique in the world of blankets. The pattern is written for experienced beginner to intermediate level crocheters, with photo tutorials for non-standard stitches. The pattern has been extensively tested, using both lighter and heavier yarns. All of the testers loved the final product and felt that it was very easy once you got a hang of it.
