The Halyard Square is an elegant, yet modern take on the traditional granny square. The square itself is lightweight, although it appears solid. It would be ideal for baby blankets or crocheted pixel art blankets!
This square can easily be made by beginners and advanced crocheters alike.
The pattern is in PDF format for easy download. It has been tested and is easy to read and understand, with photo tutorials included for difficult steps. They are written in US terminology, but can easily be converted to UK terminology. The best part: the squares work up pretty quickly!
I recommend Medium 4 weight yarns (Caron Simply Soft yarn was used for the squares in the images above). Recommended hook size and approximate yardage are specified in the patterns. Each square is approximately 5”.
