There are very few things I make that I actually keep for myself. My Brooklyn Scarf was one of them. As winter approached, I wanted to make something that was going to complement it’s design without being too matchy-matchy. I live in Boston, and in this city, everything is about neutral colors and strong textures. Thus, the Greenpoint Beanie was born!
I’ve had the help of some wonderful knitters who were kind enough to test the pattern. They remarked that it is easy to read and understand - it uses totally basic stitches, so that knitters of any level can easily complete it. It works up fast, and uses relatively little yarn.
It is ideal for any bulky/ 5-weight OR worsted weight / 4-weight yarns - the pattern details how to use either yarn (and how you can make it custom fit so that you can use any size yarn you’d like!). Required needle sizes (US 6 & 8, or size to obtain gauge) and approximate yardages for both worsted and bulky yarns are specified in the pattern. The hat length can easily be varied for more fitted or more slouchy looks! It also comes with instructions for decreasing in pattern.
Please feel free to message me if you have any questions regarding the pattern or if you need help with it!
