This design is named for one of my favorite fishing spots - The Humber River. A few years back, I had the chance to fish this world famous river with my father, as the wild salmon came in to breed. The angled details of this scarf are meant to resemble the way that the water of the Humber River cascades down the through rocky pools. The middle braid is meant to be reminiscent of the way that the salmon move upstream in the late summer, jumping from ledge to ledge.

This design is the companion to the Deer Lake Headband!

This is a quick and easy knit that is great for chilling out with - it has a pattern that is relatively easy to memorize (you'll get the hang of it pretty fast). It has been tested by some outstanding knitters, who all made beautiful creations.

Cabling makes this an intermediate level knit. It’s meant for worsted (4-weight yarn), and US 8 (5.00 mm) needles. The pattern comes with multiple suggested cast ons for alternative widths while maintaining the same overall design. This scarf can easily be made longer or shorter for anything from a cowl to a multi-wrap scarf.
