A few years ago, I was lucky enough to take a trip out to the Pacific NorthWest. One of my favorite things from all the hiking we did were the fields of lupine. This beanie was designed to emulate those flowers. The braids were meant to be the ones that stand talll while the texture mirrored both the fields and “bumpiness” of their flower sprays.
This design has been tested by some outstanding knitters to ensure clarity. The beanies they made were so cute! Once you understand the repeat, you’ll whiz through this beanie in no time!
It’s meant for worsted (4-weight yarn), and needles, yardage, etc can all be found in the pattern. The pattern includes sizes premie through adult large, with a brief note on how to adjust the head size further (if desired). Instructions are provided for decreasing in pattern, too! It does require a knowledge of cabling and of increasing/decreasing, so it’s an intermediate level knit.
