What inspires you? I’m a firm believer in the #findbeautyeverywhere movement - looking at the things around you, and being inspired by nature and man’s ability to create simultaneously. I love the saltwater - the ocean is my heart’s home, and I love all things nautical. This design was inspired by the gently crossing of the ropes on my Hobie cat and that I observe on so many docks.
The pattern has been tested by wonderful knitters and is easy to read and understand - a basic knowledge of cabling (or willingness to google/youtube it) is necessary. It works up fast, and uses relatively little yarn. A 20” headband takes just 90-100 yds. You can easily stop early to make children’s sizes, or even a cup cozy!
It is ideal for worsted weight / Medium 4 weight yarns. Required needle size (US 6) and approximate yardage (~100 yds) for an adult size headband are specified in the patterns. The headband is about 3” wide and can be made any length to fit any head from kids through adults!
